Merchantville Woman’s Club’s “A Taste Of Pennsauken” Returns On May 23

The Woman’s Club of Merchantville is once again sponsoring “A Taste of Pennsauken.” The event will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Pennsauken Country Club, 3800 Haddonfield Rd. Come out and sample the delicious cuisine of many local restaurants! Tickets are just $20 per person; and a portion of the proceeds will benefit The Food Bank of South Jersey, other local charities, and our annual scholarship awards to deserving students.

Planning Underway For The One Hundredth Celebration Of The Nineteenth Amendment

August 26, 2020 marks the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote. Organizations and communities throughout the country are preparing to celebrate this important moment in U.S. history.

Woman’s Club Book Exchange Held May 11 And 12

The Merchantville Woman’s Club Evening Membership Department will be hosting a Community Book Exchange on Saturday, May 11, from 10:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., as well as and Sunday, May 12, 1:00 – 4:30 p.m., at the Pennsauken Free Public Library, 5605 N. Crescent Blvd. Clean out those attics and bookshelves, and bring any books you have outgrown or grown tired of. Please do not bring text books, user manuals, magazines, or books in very poor condition.

If you wish to donate books, they can be dropped off at the Library between 10:00 a.m. and noon on the 11th. Arrangements can be made to drop off books at another time by contacting Jan at janwh@aol.com or (609) 410-4650.

The Woman’s Club of Merchantville’s Evening Membership Department is holding its fourth “Taste of Pennsauken/Merchantville” and the surrounding communities on Monday, April 29, at the Pennsauken Country Club, 3800 Haddonfield Rd., from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. For just $20, attendees will have an opportunity to sample some of this area’s finest cuisine. Many of last year’s restaurants are returning and the Woman’s Club is looking forward to having more restaurants participate this year.   

The fourth annual “Taste of Pennsauken/Merchantville” and the surrounding communities will take place on Monday, April 29, at the Pennsauken Country Club.

Last year, over 100 people attended, giving restaurants the opportunity to promote their business. Proceeds from the event will benefit local scholarships and charities.

Woman’s Club Taste Of Pennsauken Returns April 24

The Woman’s Club of Merchantville Evening Membership Department will once again be sponsoring their “Taste of Pennsauken” event on Monday, April 24, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Pennsauken Country Club, 3800 Haddonfield Rd. The cost per person is $20; attendees will be able to taste dishes from a variety of restaurants in Pennsauken and the surrounding area. Money raised from the event will go to support the nonprofit Prevent Child Abuse New Jersey; provide scholarships for local students; and assist several local charities. Woman’s Club Sponsors Attendees At Girl’s Career Institute

As it does every year, the Woman’s Club of Merchantville sponsored several young women to attend the 2016 Girl’s Career Institute (GCI), a program offered by the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs for girls who will complete their junior year of high school.

Woman’s Club Sponsors Five-Day Bus Trip

The Woman’s Club of Merchantville is sponsoring a bus trip to West Virginia, Virginia, and Ohio from Friday, Sept. 23 to Tuesday, Sept. 27.

Crescent Blvd. The exchange will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday and run through 5:00 p.m. on Sunday or until the books run out.

Bring in your gently used books to share with the community, then take home books you have yet to read. Hardcover and paperback books for adults or children, in decent condition, will be accepted. Please do not bring magazines or text books. Any books left over at the end of the exchange will be donated to an appropriate charitable organization.
