Having started playing the sport at the tender age of four, her passion for the game has only grown stronger over the years. Now, the senior at Paul VI is on the cusp of embarking on an exciting journey at the University of Notre Dame.

Charity Softball Game On May 19 Benefits Family Of Fallen Officer

The Pennsauken Police Department and Pennsauken Fire Department will compete in a “Battle of the Badges” charity softball game on Friday, May 19, 7:00 p.m., at the Walt Nicgorski Sports Complex, 8901 Collins Ave.

The event is free to attend; food and refreshments will be available. T-shirts will be available to purchase and there will be a 50/50 raffle. All proceeds benefit the family of fallen Deptford Police Officer Bobby Shisler.

Registration For Youth Sports Programs Closing Soon

The deadline for spring registration for the Merchantville Pennsauken Little League, 2023 baseball and softball spring season, is Sunday, Feb. 26 at 5:00 p.m. For more information or to register, visit MerchantvilleLittleLeague.org. Certain programs have limited spaces or a waitlist.

Registration for Pennsauken Youth Athletic Activities (PYAA) fall football and cheerleading is held every Tuesday and Thursday, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. to noon, at the PYAA Field House, 3501 Elm Ave., in Pennsauken.

Boathouse To Host 2023 NCAA Rowing Championships

The Camden County Boathouse has been chosen to host the 2023 NCAA Divisions I, II, and III Women’s Rowing Championships. The announcement was made on Oct. 14, by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The event is one of five NCAA championships awarded to the Philadelphia region this bid cycle.

Elite Eight Volleyball Tournament Held On November 5

The Pennsauken Public School District will be hosting a community wide volleyball tournament on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Pennsauken High School’s main gymnasium, 800 Hylton Rd.

This special event will feature teachers from all buildings, principals, transportation, maintenance, food service workers, and coaches, as well as Pennsauken’s first responders and special guest teams. This will be a fun, family-friendly event and all of Pennsauken is welcome!

World’s Best Scullers Go Head-To-Head On Cooper River

This Saturday, the world’s top scullers go head-to-head on the Cooper River. Races featuring the nation’s top high school and adaptive rowers will also take place throughout the morning.

On Saturday, Oct. 26, the world’s top scullers will go head-to-head on the Cooper River in the 2019 Gold Cup Challenge. The race is one of the last opportunities for the world’s best to face off before lining up at the Tokyo Olympics and is being held for the first time on Cooper River.

Curling Club Makes Move To Flyers Skate Zone In Pennsauken

With the 2018 Winter Olympics and the US Men’s Curling Team taking home the gold, the sport has seen an increase in popularity. Based on news reports from last year, the number of U.S. curling clubs registered with USA Curling, the national governing body for the Olympic sport, has nearly doubled since 2000. Currently, there are two curling clubs in New Jersey, one of which is excited to now make Pennsauken its home.

Early Registration Begins For PYAA Football And Cheer

Those interested in registering their children ages 5-14 for PYAA football or cheerleading can save money with early registration. This special in-person registration is held May 6-10, 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., at Pennsauken’s turf field, 4250 Burwood Ave. During this time, the cost of registration is $150 for new players; $125 for football players that have their jersey from the 2018 season (the jersey must be brought at the time of registering); and $100 for cheerleading.

Regular registration begins June 1. The cost of registration is $175 for new football players; $175 for returning players without a jersey; and $150 for returning players that have their jersey from the 2018 season (the jersey must be brought at the time of registering). The cost for cheerleading is $130.
