Pennsauken Business Has The Inside “Scoop” On Dog Waste Removal

Lifelong Pennsauken resident Le Ann Frost had a problem that, well… stunk.

Working as the Regional HR Manager for Macy’s didn’t leave a lot of time for Frost to clean up her dogs’… “deposits” in her backyard. “It was a struggle. You get home at night and it’s dark, and you have a list of things that you have to do. Getting outside to pick up the dog waste, it’s a challenge.”

Le Ann, who was looking for a way to go into business for herself, figured she may not be alone. So after doing some research, she decided to start All Dogs Poop, a Pennsauken-based dog waste removal service. That’s when business began to… pile up. “A couple of months later, I said goodbye to the corporate world very happily and just focused all my energy on growing the business. And it has grown.”

Frost hired additional staff to meet demand. Her partner, Julie Woodward, joined the business a few years later after working as the director of revenue for Westin and Le Meridian hotels in Philadelphia. Today, All Dogs Poop has hundreds of clients in four counties.

“The pet industry has seen tremendous growth from year to year. Even in a down economy, people sacrifice for their pets,” explains Frost. “We’ve been very, very fortunate that we can make a career out of this service and pay the bills.”

According to the company’s web site, All Dogs Poop provides and “affordable, professional and reliable pooper scooper service” for time-starved pet parents, those who physically can’t scoop their dog’s poop, and anyone who would rather let someone else do it because it’s “icky.”

“We offer weekly service and we also offer one time clean-ups,” explains Frost. “With our service, there’s no contract. All Dogs Poop is a month to month service. Use us as long as you need.”

In addition, the business has expanded to other pet-related services. All Dogs Poop offers a pet sitting service for specific South Jersey locations; they are also an independent distributor of Life’s Abundance veterinarian formulated, natural, holistic pet food, treats and supplements. And just recently, Frost and Woodward launched Pet Taxi of South Jersey, “ideal for pet parents who need to get their fur babies to the groomer, day care, even for a routine vet visit, but can’t seem to get it done within the constraints of a busy schedule.”

For several years, All Dogs Poop has donated a percentage of their revenue to local animal shelters. To date, the business has donated over $11,000 to shelters including Pennsauken’s Almost Home Animal Shelter, Greyhound Angels Adoption of New Jersey, Animal Welfare Association, and Voorhees Animal Orphanage. They also sponsor a variety of animal-focused events, such as the recent Mutt Strutt in Merchantville, and offer their pet waste services free of charge to dogs being fostered for animal shelters.

“It makes me feel really good,” says Frost. “We’re not just picking up dog poop; we’re actually making a difference.”
