Pennsauken native Maureen Lee Behm is one of 13 individual inductees into the Camden Catholic Hall of Fame for 2016. Behm will be installed in the Green and White Hall of Fame for Athletics.“We are pleased to announce the tenth class of inductees into the Camden Catholic High School Hall of Fame for 2016,” says Hall of Fame committee chairperson Jack Wixted ’72. “Beyond the celebration of this year’s inductees, we anticipate welcoming back many of our past inductees who together represent the ideals of Camden Catholic High School.”

“It’s an honor to be recognized by my high school. It’s a little overwhelming,” adds Behm. “It’s a little embarrassing to be singled out because I really had such great teammates and played on such great teams with excellent coaches. None of it would have happened without them.”

Behm, a member of Camden Catholic’s graduating class of 1992, is being honored as a field hockey, basketball and softball standout. Maureen was a key member of three CCHS state championship softball teams. Playing second base for the Irish, Behm played in every inning of every game from 1993 to 1996. Her performance on the diamond earned Maureen a full softball scholarship to Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Maureen’s athletic accolades include being named to the Atlantic 10 All-Championship Team (1993); Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, Atlantic 10 All-Conference Team, All Northeast Regional Team-Second Team (1994); Second Team Atlantic 10 All-Conference Team (1995); Honorable Mention Big East All-Academic Team, Team MVP, High School Coaches Association College Player of the Year (1996); and Newark Star Ledger – Second Team All Decade (high school).

“I just loved to compete,” says Behm, who now is the career law clerk for Honorable Joseph H. Rodriguez and lives in Cherry Hill with her husband, Ted, and their three children. “I love the camaraderie and the challenge. Anything is possible in sports, if you work hard, if you put the time, and if you focus.”
