Congressman Norcross Announces $970,000 In Federal Funding For Food Bank Of South Jersey

Last month, Congressman Donald Norcross was on hand at the Food Bank of South Jersey to announce almost $1 million in federal funding has been secured for the largest hunger relief organization in the region. These funds are earmarked for the purchase of hybrid vehicles, which will not only decrease the food bank’s carbon footprint, but also expand its ability to serve the food insecure throughout South Jersey.

The Food Bank of South Jersey invites the local community to participate in Dine Out for Hunger, a region-wide public awareness and fundraising campaign that unites restaurants and consumers in the fight against hunger.

Food Truck Friday Benefits Food Bank Of South Jersey

As part of its Hunger Action Month campaign, the Food Bank of South Jersey invites the local community to enjoy a taste of the best food trucks in the area at Food Truck Friday on Sept. 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Food Bank of South Jersey is located at 1501 John Tipton Blvd., Pennsauken, NJ 08110.

Dunkin’ Donuts Offering Free Medium Hot Coffee in Pennsauken

Dunkin’ Donuts’ “Brewing Joy” program is returning for the second year running, where the brand is saying thank you to its guests and the local community the best way it knows how – with coffee.

To celebrate the joy and warmth of the season, on Wednesday, Dec. 20, starting at 7:30 a.m., Dunkin’ Donuts will offer the first 500 guests at its 6830 S. Crescent Blvd. location a free Medium Hot Coffee.

Additionally, Dunkin’ Donuts will help bring joy to local children whose lives are affected by hunger by making a $1,000 donation to the Food Bank of South Jersey. Philadelphia Eagles cheerleaders and mascot SWOOP will join representatives from Dunkin’ Brands to present the donation to the Food Bank of South Jersey.

The free coffee and donation are part of Dunkin’ Donuts’ national “Brewing Joy” program, in which 23 cities across the country will be celebrating the joy of the season by offering Dunkin’ Donuts’ signature hot coffee for free at select stores between Dec. 1 and Dec. 20, and donating $25,000 to local organizations to help bring joy to local children.

Food Truck Friday Fundraiser Held On September 22

On Friday, Sept. 22 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., the Food Bank of South Jersey will host five local eateries for their Food Truck Friday event in their headquarters’ parking lot on John Tipton Blvd. in Pennsauken. Residents, local workforce, and community members are invited to stop by for a fun-filled lunch with proceeds benefiting the organization’s hunger relief programs serving nearly 200,000 individuals struggling with food insecurity in South Jersey.

The Food Bank of South Jersey Seeks Volunteers to Help Feed 8,000 Children This Summer

The Food Bank of South Jersey (FBSJ) is seeking volunteers to assist in preparing, packing, and delivering a half million meals to 8,000 low-income children through their Summer Meals Program (SMP). FBSJ staff will rely on volunteers to assist in a variety of tasks including preparing and packing meals, sorting food items, and site monitoring.
