Pennsauken Environmental Commission Hosts Shredding Event On April 22

Do you have boxes and bags of sensitive personal or financial documents? Old bills with account information on them? Papers with signatures? Good news! The Pennsauken Environmental Commission is sponsoring an even bigger document shredding event this year, with two trucks available to protect your identity and personal data!

The Merchantville-Pennsauken Water Commission is committed to protecting the environment and doing its part to practice and promote sustainability whenever possible.

Pennsauken Holds E-Waste, Shredding Event

Pennsauken Township will be hosting an e-waste collection and shredding event for residents on Saturday, May 16 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Pennsauken Township Municipal Complex, 5605 North Crescent Blvd. The Pollution Control Financing Authority of Camden County will be on site to collect electronic waste items, such as TVs, computers, keyboards, scanners, printers, radios, answering machines and more. Shred One Security Corporation will provide mobile paper shredding services to securely dispose of personal documents. This event is for individuals, not businesses.

Examples of electronic devices that may be recycled:

  • TVs (tube, projection, flat panel)
  • Computer monitors (tube, flat panel, monochrome or color)
  • Computers (desktops, laptops, notebooks, netbooks, servers, portables…)
  • Computer parts (circuit boards, memory, hard drives , power supplies , mice, keyboards)
  • Computer peripherals (routers, printers, modems, dialer s , thumb drives, speakers , UPS units)
  • Telephones (cell phones, chargers, batteries, corded or cordless phones, office telephone systems)
  • Other electronics (radios, stereos, microphones, headphones, multi – meters, tape decks, CD/DVD/BluRay players)
  • Recharge able batteries (from cell phones, laptops, cameras, drills, cars…)

Pennsauken Launches Bike Share Program In April

Beginning the first of April, Pennsauken Township and the Pennsauken Environmental Commission will launch its new bike share program, giving Pennsauken residents, age 18 or older, access to a convenient, healthy, and affordable transportation option.
