On May 26, Principal Joyce, staff, students, special guests and parent volunteers participated in a day full of awesome space activities at G.H. Carson Elementary School. Students learned about life in space, how rockets are launched into space, planets in our solar system, as well as gravity and its effect on our planet. Activities included a space presentation by the Franklin Institute, rocket launches, space songs, space crafts, a display of an actual tire used in a past spaceship launch provided by NASA, and a display of rocket ships built by kindergarten students. This year’s event was made extra special with a guest appearance from Dr. Lorraine Fesq, a former G. H. Carson student who now is the principal engineer in the Engineering Development Office at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Labortatory.
