PYAA Football And Cheer Registration Now Open

Registration for Pennsauken Youth Athletic Activities (PYAA) fall football and cheerleading is held every Tuesday and Thursday, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. to noon, at the PYAA Field House, 3501 Elm Ave., in Pennsauken.

In a video statement released today, Pennsauken Mayor Tim Killion addressed the shooting incident that occurred at a Township sports complex on Saturday evening.

Early Registration Begins For PYAA Football And Cheer

Those interested in registering their children ages 5-14 for PYAA football or cheerleading can save money with early registration. This special in-person registration is held May 6-10, 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., at Pennsauken’s turf field, 4250 Burwood Ave. During this time, the cost of registration is $150 for new players; $125 for football players that have their jersey from the 2018 season (the jersey must be brought at the time of registering); and $100 for cheerleading.

Regular registration begins June 1. The cost of registration is $175 for new football players; $175 for returning players without a jersey; and $150 for returning players that have their jersey from the 2018 season (the jersey must be brought at the time of registering). The cost for cheerleading is $130.

Aluminum Shapes Car Show Moved To September 1 Rain Date

Due to the rain yesterday, Aluminum Shapes’ first car show has moved to the rain date of Saturday, Sept. 1, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Food, prizes, and striking cars! With games, trophies, and local food trucks, Aluminum Shapes’ first annual Car Show will surely be a great time for the family. Hosted by Aluminum Shapes, LLC, 9000 River Rd. Delair, the event begins at 11:00 a.m. and continues to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1. Public admission is free; there is a $10 entry fee for participating vehicles. All funds raised will be matched by Aluminum Shapes and will benefit Pennsauken Youth Athletic Activities. PYAA To Hold Tryouts For Travel Soccer Teams

PYAA Soccer would like to announce tryouts for the 2017-2018 Boys and Girls Travel Season. We are seeking local players from Pennsauken and Merchantville that are dedicated to the sport of competitive soccer.

The PYAA girls travel teams are members of the South Jersey Girls Soccer League (SJGSL); the boys teams are members of the South Jersey Soccer League (SJSL). Both leagues play a 10-game schedule in the fall and spring seasons; there are also two local tournaments that teams will participate in. Half of all games will be played at our own Pennsauken Soccer Complex, and the remainder will be contained to the South Jersey area.

Tryouts will be held on May 2 and 3, 6:30 p.m. at the Pennsauken Community Recreation Complex, located on the corner of Westfield and Bethel avenues. Please bring your completed registration form to the tryout; and as a reminder, all participants are required to wear shin guards during both sessions.

In addition to players, we are always looking for coaches, assistant coach, managers and volunteers for our travel program.

PYAA Celebrates 60th Anniversary With Special Event

Pennsauken Youth Athletic Activities (PYAA) is celebrating its 60th anniversary with a special event Saturday, Aug.6, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the PYAA Field House, 3501 Elm Ave. All PYAA sports participants, volunteers, coaches, etc. – both past and present – are encouraged to come celebrate with food, games, music, 50/50 drawings, and family fun.

Football And Cheerleading Sign-Ups

PYAA football and cheerleading sign-ups will be every Thursday, 6:00-8:00 p.m., and Saturday, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., during August. Sign-ups are held at the PYAA Field House, located at 3501 Elm Ave. All forms of payment will be accepted.

PYAA Intramural Soccer In-Person Registration Held July 19 And 26

PYAASoccerDue to multiple requests asking to register players for the fall season, PYAA Intramural Soccer will be taking in-person registration on the next two Tuesdays – July 19 and 26 – between 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at the Pennsauken Soccer Complex located at the corner of Westfield and Bethel avenues.

This will be your last chance to register for the fall season. Cost is $75 per player. Check, cash, or credit cards are accepted.

Summer Open Play

Beginning on Tuesday, July 5, and running every Tuesday in July from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., players from 7‐13 years old will be separated into teams and play scrimmage soccer against each other. Instructions and guidance will be given throughout the night. Scrimmages are open to Merchantville and Pennsauken residents only. Forms must be received by July 5. To download the form, click here.

Philadelphia Union Day In Pennsauken

M616PhilaUnionThe Philadelphia Union Major League Soccer Club and PYAA Soccer Club have rescheduled their Union Day Event to Sunday, July 10.

The Philadelphia Union Day is open to children in the South Jersey area. The day will include inflatables and fun games, as well as a free youth soccer clinic for any interested child ages six to 13. There are two time slots available: 3:00-4:30 p.m. and 5:00-6:30 p.m.

All players must be registered, so please fill out the form – located at http://www.philadelphiaunion.com/fans/union-day-pennsauken – for each participating child. Please note that any participating child must bring their own soccer equipment and soccer ball to the clinic.

In addition to filling out this registration form, you will need to sign a waiver upon arrival at the clinic. All waivers must be signed by the parent or guardian, age 18 or older, of the registered child. Please print out and complete the waiver and bring to the clinic.
