Library Hosts Volunteer Fair On February 23

The Pennsauken Free Public Library, 5605 N. Crescent Blvd., is hosting a volunteer fair on Saturday, Feb. 23. Held from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the event will match potential volunteers with organizations in need of help.

Volunteer organizations that would like to reserve a table to display information should contact the Library at (856) 665-5959.

Volunteers Needed For Senior College And Career Day

The sixth annual Pennsauken High School Senior College and Career Day is on Friday, January 13, 2017 from 8:15 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Volunteers are needed to speak to our seniors about life after high school.

Volunteers are needed for the following panels:

  • Pennsauken graduates currently at a two-year college
  • Pennsauken graduates currently at a four-year college
  • Pennsauken graduates currently at technical school (auto, beauty, programming, etc.)
  • Pennsauken graduates currently in the military
  • Pennsauken graduates who have graduated college
  • Pennsauken graduates who went directly into a career after high school
  • Local professionals who can conduct mock interviews with our seniors.

This half-day event will include breakfast for volunteers; three, one-hour interview sessions to talk to seniors about life after high school or conduct interviews; and lunch with PHS seniors.

Hospice Volunteers Needed In Pennsauken

Grace Healthcare Services is looking for volunteers to assist hospice patients and their families in both Pennsauken and the surrounding area.

“If you have a warm heart, a listening ear and the gift of compassion, you can make a difference,” explains Kate Moore, volunteer coordinator for Grace Healthcare Services. “Volunteers are an integral part of the hospice team. Whether you choose to work directly with patients and families, or volunteer in one of many other ways, you’ll be providing invaluable help to those in need.”

Volunteer training is free and provided by the Grace Healthcare Services Volunteer Program.

Haunted Hay Ride Scares Up Some Fun On October 29

Pennsauken’s annual Haunted Hay Ride, sponsored by the Township’s Youth Action Committee, is held on Thursday, Oct. 29 from 6:15 to 9:00 p.m. at the softball field behind the Pennsauken Police Administration Building at Rt. 130 and Bethel Ave.

Volunteers Needed for Pennsauken’s 9/11 Observance

Volunteers are needed to assist with Pennsauken’s annual observance of the terrorist attacks committed on Sept. 11, 2001.
