Woman’s Club Holds Meetings, Fundraisers In October

The Evening Membership of the Woman’s Club of Merchantville will hold their monthly meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 13 at the Merchantville Community Center, 212 Somerset Ave., at 7:00 p.m. There will be an origami workshop and light refreshments. The Woman’s Club of Merchantville will hold their monthly meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at the Merchantville Community Center at 12:00 p.m. There will be a tea luncheon, followed by a meeting; in addition, guest speaker John Klein will talk about the services provided by Joseph’s House.

Fundraiser For Food Bank On October 21

The Woman’s Club of Merchantville will hold their annual fundraiser at the Coastline, located at 1240 Brace Road, Cherry Hill, with all proceeds going to Food Bank of South Jersey. The event will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 21 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The donation to attend is $5.00; no reservations are required. Well drinks will cost $2 and there will be a free buffet. Game Night Fundraiser On October 20

The Evening Membership of the Woman’s Club of Merchantville will hold a Game Night on Tuesday, Oct. 20 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., at the Merchantville Community Center to raise money for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) NJ and other local charities. Bring your own board/card game, or join a game offered that evening. The price is $10 to attend; dessert and beverages are included. The National Alliance on Mental Illness NJ is the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs’ special state project. It is a statewide non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness. Through education, support, advocacy and public awareness programs, NAMI NJ fosters understanding about mental illness, confronts stigma often associated with mental disorders, advocates for public policies that benefit those affected by mental illness, and promotes research into the causes, treatment and recovery of mental health disorders. The Merchantville Woman’s Club has been one of the leading service organizations in the region. Women from our community are members committed to making a difference. Among other things, the Club raises money for local and state charities and scholarships. Activities include monthly card and game parties and members volunteer at the Food Bank of South Jersey and the Cathedral Kitchen.
