Team Pennsauken Holds Cornhole Fundraiser At Bobby Ray’s On February 24
Team Pennsauken will be hosting a cornhole tournament fundraiser at Bobby’s Ray’s Pennsauken Tavern, 6324 Westfield Ave., on Saturday, Feb. 24, noon to 5:00 p.m. Cornhole is a fun lawn game in which players take turns throwing bags of corn or bean bags at a raised platform with a hole in the far end.
PHS Teachers Recognized By Freedoms Foundation At Valley Forge
Lynda Shanahan and Carolyn Schultz, special needs teachers at Pennsauken High School, are being recognized by the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge, a nonpartisan educational institution that teaches about American rights and responsibilities, honors acts of civic virtue, and challenges all to get involved.

Township Committee, School Board Hold Reorganization Meetings

So on the first Thursday of the year, Pennsauken residents and municipal representatives gathered at the Pennsauken Country Club on a snowy evening to set the town’s government for 2018.

Pennsauken residents Davon Clark and Rick Taylor were among 13 Camden County residents honored for their work in the community during the 2018 Martin Luther King, Jr. Freedom Medal Awards. Held last month at the Camden County Boathouse in Pennsauken, the annual event – which has taken place since 2001 – recognized those who have selflessly contributed their time and effort to better their community in conjunction with the goals of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The official discovery of the potato, according to the internet, was by the Incan Indians in Peru. It’s the fourth largest crop in the world. In the early 1500s, Spaniards discovered just how delicious they were and brought them home to cultivate. Then in the late 1500s, Sir Walter Raleigh brought them to Ireland. For those who don’t know Raleigh, he founded the infamous Roanoke Colony and helped popularize tobacco in England.
