Pennsauken Fall Clean-Up Day On September 27

By Frank Sinatra, AAP Editor

EDITOR’S NOTE: Pennsauken Township has announced the cancellation of its Annual Fall Clean Up originally scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 27. There is no rain date at this time.

Pennsauken Township’s Parks and Recreation Department will be holding a fall clean-up day on Saturday, Sept. 27. Held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., volunteers will work along Chestnut Ave. from 36th to 43rd streets.

“Volunteers play a vital role each year in keeping Pennsauken’s parks and outdoor areas clean and litter-free,” said Mayor Nicole Roberts. “This is a fantastic way for community groups and students to earn service hours and make a positive impact in our town.”

Pennsauken’s fall clean-up day will be held along Chestnut Ave. on Sept. 27.

Volunteers will meet up at Chestnut Ave. and 38th St. Each person, family, or team will be provided with trash bags, a bucket, gloves (one size fits all), and trash pickers. It is suggested that volunteers wear boots, along with old clothes (long-sleeved shirts and pants), as individuals can get muddy and dirty. These clean ups may be canceled/postponed due to weather 24 hours prior to the event.

Registration for the fall clean-up is required at least five days prior to the event. To register, please email the following information to jvazquez@pennsauken.gov:

• Your full name

• The number of people coming with you, if any

• A good phone number and email address to contact you with updates, cancellations, etc.
