The Friends of the Pennsauken Free Public Library host its annual Book and Bake Sale Oct. 17-19, at the Pennsauken Library, 5605 N. Crescent Blvd., during regular library hours. And the name of the event really doesn’t do it justice these days. Sure, we have books: plenty of best sellers, mysteries, romance, children’s, biographies, crafts, and more. But what about the CDs, DVDs, BluRays, games, and other technical buys for those of you who want something more? They’re all a big part of our sale as well, lots of them, all at bargain prices along with all those books!
The “bake” part of our event, though, just about covers it all: cakes, cookies, cupcakes, pies, tarts, and enough other homemade treats to fill everyone’s sweet tooth.
Any books, games or other donations you make to the sale will help boost our inventory. We’re already collecting donations, so after you clean out your closets and shelves just drop off everything at the Library’s community room. And if you have a spare hour or two, you can even help us sort! As always, thank you for your support!
Fall Tech Raffle Begins Oct. 16
Here’s another quick reminder about the annual Fall Raffle, kicking off Oct. 16 at the Library lobby desk. Two dollars each, or three for five, will give you a chance to win any one of the three fantastic prizes: The Go Pro Action Video Camera, Canon Power Shot with Digital Zoom Camera, and Amazon Kindle Fire HDX. The drawing takes place at the Pennsauken Library on Wednesday, Nov. 19, and if the lucky winners can bear to part with theirs, it’s just in time to become a Christmas gift for someone special!
Friends At The Harvest Festival
The Friends will have a table and a special guest at the Pennsauken Heritage Festival, held on Oct. 11 at the Community Recreation Complex on Westfield Ave. All Around Pennsauken Columnist Bob Wagner will be joining us to sign his book, “The Blue Parakeet is under the Pancakes.” All proceeds will go to support Pennsauken Library programs. So be sure to stop by, buy a book, get an autograph, and help the Library. And as a little added bonus, we’ll also have raffle tickets ready by then so visitors can get a jump-start on the chance to win those terrific prizes.
So will we see you at the Book and Bake Sale? At the Harvest Festival? At the Library’s lobby desk for raffle tickets? At our next Friends of the Library meeting, held the second Wednesday of the month? Hopefully, all of the above, because you definitely don’t want to miss out on any of the upcoming fun!
