Held from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Pennsauken Community Recreation Complex, Pennsauken’s police, fire department, and EMS are joining forces to present a variety of displays and activities, specialized unit demonstrations, and more.

Township, Veterans To Hold Virtual Memorial Day Event

Pennsauken Township officials and first responders will be joining members of local veterans’ groups for a virtual Memorial Day Ceremony on Sunday May 30, at 11:45 a.m. Held at Pennsauken’s Liberty Park, representatives from Township Committee and members from AMVETS Post 101 and VFW Post 1270 will come together for a socially distant wreath laying ceremony.

Six Figure Grant From PSEG Foundation Helps Food Bank Of South Jersey

When the pandemic struck, demand for food increased at the Food Bank of South Jersey, an organization dedicated to helping the food insecure.

So, when PSEG and the PSEG Foundation donated $150,000 to the Pennsauken, New Jersey-based organization as part of the Foundation’s COVID-19 support grants, the funds were  “sufficient to feed almost a half-million meals,” said Fred Wasiak, president and CEO of the Food Bank of South Jersey, calculating that a single dollar can provide more than three meals.

New Jersey Makers Day Weekend At Pennsauken Free Public Library

On March 19, Joylette Hylick, daughter of Katherine Johnson, NASA mathematician and subject of “Hidden Figures,” will be the keynote speaker for the Library’s celebration of New Jersey Makers Day. New Jersey Makers Day (NJMD) is an annual celebration of all things “making” at libraries all throughout the state. From science experiments and computers, to arts and crafts, NJMD aims to connect people from all walks of life through STEM, fun and learning of making and creativity. On Friday, March 19, and Saturday, March 20, the Pennsauken Free Public Library is hosting a variety of special events and activities.

PHSAA Holds Virtual Basket Auction For Scholarships

This time last year, the Pennsauken High School Alumni Association (PHSAA) was planning a bowling and basket auction event to raise funds for scholarships for Pennsauken High School graduating seniors. As with so many other events, the fundraiser was postponed indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

With donations already in hand and no end in sight to be able to safely hold a large event in person, PHSAA decided to revive the event, but hold it virtually. They have booked an online, virtual basket auction event through 32auctions.com. The PHSAA Bowling for Scholarships event is now PHSAA Bidding for Scholarships!

Any Garment Cleaners, with several South Jersey locations, including Pennsauken, is hosting its first holiday food drive and dreaming of a blizzard of donations for the Food Bank of South Jersey.   

Township Works To Bring Some Holiday Joy To Residents
