Virtual Showing Of “The S Word” On December 1
On Tuesday, Dec. 1, at 6:00 p.m., the Camden County Partnership for Suicide Prevention presents a virtual showing of “The S Word.”
In “The S Word” ( 2017), a suicide attempt survivor is on a mission to find fellow survivors and document their stories of courage, insight and humor. Along the way, she discovers a rising national movement transforming personal struggles into action.

PEA PRIDE Committee Presents COVID-Friendly Trunk Or Treat
The Pennsauken Education Association’s PRIDE Committee is presenting a COVID-Friendly Trunk or Treat on Sunday, Oct. 25. Treat bags will be delivered to Pennsauken families’ homes, beginning at noon that day. Volunteers will be dressing up their cars – and/or themselves – to drop off the treat bags. Children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes for these deliveries.
Food Distribution For Those In Need
Camden County, in partnership with Touch New Jersey, is hosting a series of food distribution events for those in need. One food distribution will be held at the Pennsauken Community Recreation Complex, 1601 Bethel Ave., on Friday, Oct. 2, at 10:30 a.m.
Drive-up and walk-up options are available. Participants must wear masks and practice social distancing.

Pennsauken Takes Stand Against Racism With March And Vigil

In the wake of the senseless death of George Floyd, the Pennsauken community came together to take a stand against racism. On June 10, hundreds gathered in the parking lot of the World Harvest Christian Center for the ‘Sauken In Solidarity/Black Lives Matter march and vigil. The event was organized by four students from Pennsauken High School, Aigner Settles, Ciara Carver, Keturah Jones, and Angela Nguyen, as well as residents Jenny Bello and Jazmin Bello-Andeliz, who reached out to both the Township’s administration and the Pennsauken Police Department, in order to facilitate a peaceful protest.

Local Food Trucks Feeding The Front Line

Three local food trucks have banded together to provide some great tasting comfort to those on the front line of the battle to stop COVID-19.
Pennsauken’s own Mary’s Mobile Diner, run by resident Mary Hilbert; Red’s Rolling Restaurant, run by Hilbert’s daughter Megan; and Sabrina Brill of Not Your Mama’s Tacos, have been serving staff at Cooper University Health Care in Camden for well over a year. When the coronavirus began affecting our region in March, the three came up with a plan to “Feed the Front Line” as a way to give back those in harm’s way who are helping others.
Virtual Town Hall For Camden County Residents Hosted On Zoom

Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli will join elected representatives at the local, state, and federal levels for a virtual town hall at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22. The series, “your government, your neighborhood, your voice,” typically rotates between local venues in Camden County municipalities, but is being held virtually for the first time via the platform Zoom due to the coronavirus pandemic.
