Community Forum Discusses Issues Of Domestic Violence, Child Safety

The Camden County Board of Freeholders and Pennsauken Township, in conjunction with the Camden County Commission on Child Abuse and Missing Children, will be holding a “Safe Families, Safe Communities” forum on Thursday, Oct. 13. Held from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Temple Lutheran Church, 5600 Rt. 130 N., Pennsauken, the event provides the community an opportunity to discuss the issues of domestic violence and child safety.

Pennsauken-Based “Anthony’s Avengers” Raising Funds For CHOP

On Sunday, Sept. 25, “Anthony’s Avengers” of Pennsauken will rally together for the annual Parkway Run & Walk held at Eakins Oval on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.  The Parkway Run benefits childhood cancer research and survivorship programs at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s world-renowned Cancer Center. The Cancer Center is one of the largest pediatric cancer programs in the nation, making breakthroughs in cancer treatment that impact the lives of children across the nation and around the world.

Camden County Hero Scholarship Fund Golf Outing Held At Pennsauken Country Club September 20

!cid_image003_jpg@01D168AFThe Camden County Hero Scholarship Fund is hosting its 24th Annual Golf Outing on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at Pennsauken Country Club, 3800 Haddonfield Ave. The event is hosted in conjunction with the Camden County Fire Chief’s and Officer’s Association, the Camden County Police Chief’s Association, the Camden County Firemen’s Association and the George Figueroa Memorial Fund. The proceeds of this event will benefit the families of Camden County’s police, fire and rescue personnel.

Woman’s Club Sponsors Attendees At Girl’s Career Institute

As it does every year, the Woman’s Club of Merchantville sponsored several young women to attend the 2016 Girl’s Career Institute (GCI), a program offered by the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs for girls who will complete their junior year of high school.

Fire Department Helps To Build Stronger Community During National Night Out

Pennsauken’s Fire Department opened their doors to the public on Aug. 2 to celebrate National Night Out. Firefighters demonstrated the equipment they use every day to keep Pennsauken’s residents safe. Younger township residents even got hands-on experience with the equipment, trying on gear, operating hoses, and watching rescue equipment in action. There was also plenty of ice cream and soft pretzels for everyone.

Pennsauken’s Cub Scouts Plan Activity-Packed Year

Cub Scout Pack 116 Pennsauken has a lot of activities planned for the 2016-2017 year. On Saturday, Sept. 10, Scouts headed to Rowan University’s Fossil Park to participate in a dinosaur dig. They will also be participating in the upcoming Pennsauken Car, Bike and Craft Show on Sunday, Sept. 18.
