In mid-October, the Camden County Board of Commissioners identified a need for booster shots and expanding access to COVID vaccines for the forthcoming 5-11-year-old pediatric community. Now in early December, there are more changes coming to the Camden County Health Hub for the holiday season to ensure residents more opportunities for a safe and healthy holiday season. 

Township Tree Lighting, Holiday Light Extravaganza Held This Evening

Pennsauken Township is holding its Tree Lighting and Holiday Light Extravaganza, tonight, Wednesday, Dec. 8, at the Township’s Municipal Complex, 5605 N. Crescent Blvd. 

At 6:15 p.m., Santa Claus will arrive via fire engine to light the tree. In addition to seeing Jolly Ole’ Saint Nicholas, kids can also drop off their letters to Santa that evening in a special mailbox set up on site. Mr. Claus will read some of these notes in a special video that will be shared later in the month on Pennsauken Television’s YouTube channel and via social media.

Through 9:00 p.m. that evening, attendees will be able to walk around the light display on the municipal grounds, enjoy musical performances from the PHS Choir and the Eagles Pep Band, and purchase refreshments from food trucks. Residents also have the option of driving through the municipal parking lot to view decorated fire engines, police cars, municipal vehicles, and more.

The Township will also be accepting new, unwrapped toys during the event for the annual Angel Tree program, which helps local families in need during the holidays.

Pennsauken Fire Department Escorts Santa Through Town

The Pennsauken Fire Department is ready to launch “Operation Santa” for the holidays. Starting at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4, Santa Claus, escorted by the Pennsauken Township Fire Department, will visit every neighborhood in Pennsauken in a single day. Residents are asked to listen for the sirens and air horns from the Fire Department apparatus as Santa is driven around town.

Pennsauken Holds Fortieth Annual Holiday Parade

For the Pennsauken Township Holiday Parade, turning 40 years old is another special reason to celebrate! Back this Saturday from a year’s hiatus because of the pandemic, Pennsauken kicks off the most wonderful time of the year with a parade filled with live entertainment from bands and community groups, as well as a special visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. With blaring fire engines to costumed characters and much more, Pennsauken’s 40th annual Holiday Parade is sure to fill local families with festive cheer.

Wawa Opens Newest Pennsauken Store On Veterans Day

Wawa, Inc. announces the opening of its new store in Pennsauken, NJ, located at 8000 S. Crescent Blvd. To celebrate the grand opening, Wawa is hosting an outdoor ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11, featuring local officials, first responders and charity partners. The store will open to the public at 8:00 a.m. with limited-edition Wawa Pennsauken t-shirts for the first 100 customers, as supplies last. To honor retired service members on Veterans Day, Wawa is offering free any size hot coffee at this new location and across its entire chain Thursday, Nov. 11.

Polling Places For November 2 New Jersey General Election

Voters can place their completed mail in ballots in this drop box located at the Pennsauken Township Municipal Building.

The 2021 New Jersey General Election will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 2. Polls are open in Pennsauken from 6:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

For those voting by mail, ballots were mailed out to eligible residents beginning in September. In addition to using the U.S. Mail, voters can also place their competed ballots in the drop box located in the Township’s municipal complex, 5605 N. Crescent Blvd., Pennsauken, N.J. 08110.

Voters have until the polls close at 8:00 p.m. on Nov. 2 to return a mail-in ballot in person or via a drop box or have their ballot postmarked by that date. Mailed ballots must be received by November 8, 2021 to be counted.
