Public Meetings Continue For School District Bond Referendum

With less than a month and a half away until the bond referendum vote on March 13, the Pennsauken School District is holding several events to inform residents about the proposed initiative designed to make significant improvements to all public schools throughout Pennsauken.

PHS Open House And Bond Referendum Discussion On January 28

On Sunday, Jan. 28, members of the Pennsauken community have an additional opportunity to not only tour Pennsauken High School, located at 800 Hylton Rd., but also learn about the upcoming bond referendum vote slated for March 13. The high school’s open house begins at 2:00 p.m.; and the referendum presentation starts at 4:00 p.m.

Public Meeting On Bond Referendum Held This Evening

This evening, Monday, Jan. 15, 6:30 p.m., the Pennsauken School District will host a meeting at Longfellow Elementary School, 1400 Forrest Ave., Pennsauken, to discuss the proposed bond referendum and Longfellow Park.

Any Pennsauken resident who has questions about the Longfellow part of the referendum, wants to share their feelings on the subject, or has questions they want answered, is encouraged to attend.

The proposed initiative, which will allocate almost $36 million for various capital improvement projects, will be voted on by the Pennsauken community on March 13. The Pennsauken School District is hosting a variety of different public meetings to help residents learn more about the referendum and make an informed decision.

As 2018 begins, Pennsauken School students and staff gear up for a new year after enjoying a long holiday break. The hallways will once again be filled with the hustle and bustle that accompanies each school day. While the District prepares for the beginning of the second half of the year, the Pennsauken Board of Education will undergo some significant changes.

The Pennsauken School District is asking residents to consider a bond referendum that will make significant improvements to every public school throughout the Township. The vote, to be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, will allocate almost $36 million for various initiatives, while actually reducing school taxes for Pennsauken households.

Touch-A-Truck And Trunk Or Treat Event Held On October 29

UPDATE: While the Touch-A-Truck portion of today’s event has been postponed because of rain, the Trunk or Treat is STILL HAPPENING from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Pennsauken School District and the Pennsauken Education Association are hosting a joint trunk or treat and touch-a-truck event on Sunday, Oct. 29 at Pennsauken High School, 800 Hylton Rd.

Pennsauken School District Cuts Ribbon On New Trade Programs

Last month, the Pennsauken School District officially cut the ribbon on the high school’s new trade programs. Beginning this year, Pennsauken High School offers career technical education (CTE) programs in carpentry, cosmetology, automotive technology, and culinary arts.
