Congratulations To Our Championship Students

Pennsauken schools have a long history of excellence in music and the arts. That continued to be the case at the 2017 Atlantic Coast Championships, held in Wildwood, N.J. last month.

The Championships are sponsored by the Tournament Indoor Association (TIA), one of the largest competitive organizations for performing arts in the nation. Pennsauken’s Independent Drumline and Color Guard, as well the Middle School Color Guard, went up against talented performers from all across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.

Pennsauken’s Independent Drumline and Color Guard took first place during the competition. The Color Guard is ranked sixth in the world! In addition, PHS senior Schina Phan was awarded the highest scholarship given out that weekend!

Pennsauken’s newest performers are also working very hard to uphold the community’s proud tradition in the performing arts. The Middle School Color Guard, performing for the first time ever in any competition, placed second at the Championships.

Congratulations to these talented, award-winning students and to the hard working and dedicated teachers and parents who support and guide them!
