On Friday, Sept. 22 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., the Food Bank of South Jersey will host five local eateries for their Food Truck Friday event in their headquarters’ parking lot on John Tipton Blvd. in Pennsauken. Residents, local workforce, and community members are invited to stop by for a fun-filled lunch with proceeds benefiting the organization’s hunger relief programs serving nearly 200,000 individuals struggling with food insecurity in South Jersey.
September is Hunger Action Month. Every year, the Food Bank holds special events designed to inspire people to take action and raise awareness of the fact that 42 million Americans, including 13 million children, are food insecure, according to the USDA. In South Jersey alone, there are nearly 200,000 individuals struggle with hunger and may not know where their next meal will come from.
