FOP Offers $30,000 For Information On Shooting

The NJ State Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge in combination with the local Camden County Metro FOP Lodge 218 will be providing $30,000 for anyone with info leading to the apprehension and conviction of the two suspects involved in the shooting of two Camden County Police Officers. The incident occurred on Aug. 7, at about 8:30 p.m. at Walnut and Broadway in the city’s Bergen Square neighborhood. The officers were stopped at a red light in an unmarked vehicle when they were ambushed by the suspects.

“This unprovoked ambush on two police officers was a heinous act that was an attack on our community’s guardians. These detectives are empowered by the public to protect the city’s neighborhoods and ensure the safety of their streets,” said NJ State FOP Lodge President Bob Fox. “We believe this reward will assist our law enforcement partners in bringing these cowards to justice.”

The NJ State FOP Lodge, in support of all our brothers and sisters in blue, have a moral obligation to work on behalf of our members and step in with whatever resources we can to aid the investigation.

Camden County Metro Police Lodge 218 President, Rick Kunkel, talked about the critical work being done on behalf of the injured officers.

“We have been by the side of the officers since the incident occurred working with the families to provide comfort and support in their time of need,” Kunkel said. “We are supporting this effort to get these sociopaths off the street and locked behind bars. These are the kind of criminals that jails are built for and we will do everything in our power to aid in their apprehension.”

Anyone with information in regard to the shooting can call the Camden County Metro Police Department’s Det. Cafferalli at (856) 757-7042.
