Freeholder Board Hosts Week-long 2020 Census Job Fair

The Freeholder Board is joining organizations across the country to recruit applicants interested in taking part in history by working for the 2020 Census. The Census Bureau is planning to hire as many as 3,000 part-time workers in Camden County to follow up with households that do not complete the census form voluntarily.

The census job application is fast, convenient, and available online. Most positions pay $16.50 an hour and are ideal for individuals looking to supplement their income or who are looking for flexible, part-time work.

To apply online, visit https://2020census.gov/en/jobs.html

“While the Bureau is expecting to hire 3,000 workers, we will likely need five or six times as many applicants to make sure that all of those positions can be filled,” said Freeholder Carmen Rodriguez. “Applying is easy and those who get hired will have the ability to work evenings and weekends with extra hours available for those who are successful in the position. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside your neighbors and to serve your community.”

For individuals who have difficulty applying, or who do not have a computer or reliable internet connection at home, the Board will be making available numerous application sites from Oct. 21 to Oct. 26. All sites, during their normal hours of operation, will have staff on-hand to assist individuals with their application and to answer any questions they might have about the application process.
