The 2016 Journey to Healing bowling benefit will be held on Sunday, March 13 at Pinsetter Bar and Bowl, 7111 Maple Ave. in Pennsauken, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Proceeds from the event, which features three hours of bowling, a two-hour buffet, Chinese auction, and a 50/50 raffle, benefit the Ree Wyn Foundation, an organization that helps provides education, promotes awareness, and supports research efforts for thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP), a rare blood disorder.

In January 2012, Pennsauken resident Vicki Nicolls experienced the sudden and unexpected loss of her daughter, Reeshemah, to TTP. In response to this tragedy, Vicki, along with her family members, founded the Ree Wynn Foundation in memory of her daughter.

TTP affects approximately four in a million individuals per year. Although it can arise in people of all ages, genders, and ethnic backgrounds, young African American woman are disproportionately affected. The disease often strikes suddenly and without warning, and can be fatal if treatment is not instituted promptly.

Tickets for the Journey to Healing bowling benefit are $30 for adults and $20 for children ages 10 and under. For sponsorship, tickets, or more information, call Vicki at (856) 261-4541 or visit http://www.reewynn.org.
