Learning At The Pennsauken Free Public Library
There is so much going on at the Pennsauken Free Public Library and you can be a part of it!
This month, we will offer mini introductions to YouTube, which allows you video access to a vast array of tutorials, such as cutting hair, fixing plumbing, woodworking, dance steps, knitting, and more! Learning new tasks helps create new synapses in the brain which improves “brain fitness.” So come on out to the library to expand your learning experience and flex your brain! Mini Introductions to YouTube will take place on Fridays, Aug. 4, 11, 18, and 25 in 30-minute one-on-one sessions from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Space is limited to two persons per Friday, so call or come in to sign-up at the Reference Desk right away.
We also welcome all home educators to a homeschooling resource and exchange event. Bring your used curriculum, literature, and homeschooling resources for a free materials and ideas swap. This event will take place on Saturday, Aug. 12 from noon to 1:45 p.m. in the Community Room. Our hosts, the BBF Girls, will provide free refreshments and a library tour will be available. To register, please contact the Reference Desk
Finally, our popular basic computer classes for adults and seniors are back. Join us in the Community Room on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in August from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. for instruction on Microsoft Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Excel, as well as classes on the internet and e-mail. To register, please sign up at the Reference Desk or call us at (856) 665-5959 ext. 4, as space is limited.
Please be advised that during times of high heat and humidity the library may unexpectedly close due to the issue with the Library’s air conditioning system. Therefore, we recommend you call us before coming at (856) 665-595 to see if we are open.
