Local Sweepstakes Winner’s Food Bank Donation Is In The Can
Generous Contribution Will Help Feed More than One Thousand Area Families
The Food Bank of South Jersey recently received a big bean-boost, thanks to the winner of a national sweepstakes aimed at members of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
In conjunction with the Academy’s annual conference last month, members were invited to enter a national sweepstakes entitled, “Feed Your Community. Feed Your Family.” Sponsored by cannedbeans.org on behalf of Bush Brothers & Company, the sweepstakes awarded a pallet of canned beans to the winner’s chosen food pantry. This generous donation provides the foundation for more than 1,200 nutritious family meals for local residents.
“I chose the Food Bank of South Jersey because I know first-hand that they do great work and play an integral role helping to feed our neighbors,” said Shanna Hart, the sweepstakes winner. “As a community nutrition educator, I can tell you that there are so many benefits to eating canned beans. They are delicious, nutritious, and extremely affordable. I’m so pleased to share this sweepstakes prize!”
The randomly selected sweepstakes winner also happens to be the Health and Wellness Lead Educator for the Food Bank of South Jersey, making her contribution deeply personal.
