Mayors Roberts, Brennan To Speak At PMAC Event

Pennsauken Mayor Nicole Roberts and Merchantville Mayor Ted Brennan will be the guest speakers at the upcoming networking luncheon of the Pennsauken-Merchantville Area Chamber of Commerce, held on Wednesday, Feb. 12, noon, at the Pennsauken Country Club, 3800 Haddonfield Rd.

Each year, the mayors of Pennsauken and Merchantville address local businesses and share updates on the economic development initiatives in their communities.

Pennsauken native and community volunteer Nicole Roberts was sworn in last month as the first African American female mayor in the history of the Township. With her appointment in December 2020, Nicole became the first African American female ever to serve on the Township’s governing body. And in January 2022, Roberts was sworn in as Pennsauken’s first-ever African American female deputy mayor. She is also part of the first all-female leadership team for Pennsauken Township Committee. Previously, she had worked in the educational field for over two decades, 15 of which were with the Pennsauken School District.

Longtime Merchantville resident Ted Brennan has served as mayor since 2015, previously being an eight-year member of Borough Council. Earning his degree of Juris Doctor from Rutgers University School of Law, Brennan currently serves as the general counsel and corporate secretary for Remington & Vernick Engineers, a full-service engineering consulting firm that provides design, planning, and construction management/inspection services to clients throughout the Mid- and South Atlantic.

The cost is $30 per person. PMAC members can R.S.V.P. by Monday, Feb. 10, by contacting Nancy Ellis at (856) 910-1100 or pmac1team@gmail.com.
