Pennsauken’s first responders are holding a special event during National Night Out, Tuesday, Aug. 1, an annual community-building campaign that is designed to make neighborhoods a safer, better place to live.
Held from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Pennsauken Community Recreation Complex, 6730 Westfield Ave., Pennsauken’s police officers, firefighters, and EMTs are joining forces to present a variety of displays and activities, specialized unit demonstrations, and more.
“National Night Out is all about building and reinforcing the relationship between public safety and the residents we serve,” explained Pennsauken Police Chief Phil Olivo. “This Aug. 1, we expect to provide another great experience for the members of our community.”
According to the National Night Out website, NATW.org, “Millions of neighbors take part in National Night Out across thousands of communities from all fifty states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide on the first Tuesday in August (Texas celebrates on the first Tuesday in October). Neighborhoods host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and various other community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel, exhibits and much, much more.”
