The Pennsauken Alliance on Substance Abuse (PASA) is holding a planning meeting on Tuesday, July 19, 7:00 p.m. at the PYAA Field House, located 3501 Elm Ave. This local organization is comprised of local volunteers who help disperse state grant money to combat drug and alcohol misuse and abuse in the Pennsauken community.
“Over the last few years, we have lost many of our Pennsauken family to the drug lifestyle, especially our youth. Whether from overdose, vehicle accidents, homicide, or incarceration, too many are impacted by this epidemic,” says William Finnegan, PASA. “The pain and loss from drug and alcohol abuse and misuse is not limited to youth or the users themselves. The families and friends also struggle with the addiction or reckless decisions.”
In the past, PASA have sponsored Project Graduation, the mock car crash presentation at Pennsauken High School, school assemblies, town watch, and more. Through this meeting, the organization is looking to get new ideas and better evaluate the needs of the Pennsauken community.
“We’re hoping that members of the community come out to learn about PASA and see how we can all work together to fight this epidemic.”
