Pennsauken Man Charged with Attempted Murder After Shooting Man

A Pennsauken man was arrested March 19 on multiple charges after reportedly chasing another man in his vehicle and shooting him, according to Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Pennsauken Police Chief John Nettleton.
Jermaine Young, 20, of Pennsauken, has been charged with one count of first-degree Attempted Murder, one count of second-degree Aggravated Assault, one count of second-degree Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose and two counts of second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
Detectives said on March 15 shortly before 5 p.m., a 22-year-old man arrived at the hospital suffering from a gunshot wound.
Through the investigation, detectives learned Young allegedly saw the victim driving a vehicle near the intersection of 45th St. and Jackson Ave. in Pennsauken. Investigators said Young drove after the victim’s vehicle before firing multiple shots, striking him.
Young was apprehended by members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force – Camden Division in Pennsauken. He was remanded to the Camden County Jail pending a pretrial detention hearing.
All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
