Camden County Women’s Center honored Pennsauken Township Police department at the fourth annual “Friends of CCWC” event. Pennsauken Police received the Law Enforcement Award for Excellence in Action Against Domestic Violence. This award recognizes an exceptional law enforcement body that works side by side the Domestic Violence Response Team of CCWC, to protect the rights and wellbeing of victims of domestic violence, while also lowering recidivism for the department, together.
“The Pennsauken Police Department has been allowing us to use their space for our 40-hour training, but they also did a huge donation drive recently,” explains Danielle Brown, domestic violence response team coordinator for the Camden County Women’s Center. “They came with cars and a tank full of donations down Market St. in Camden. They do a lot for us. It means a lot for the victims who may think no one’s out there for them.”
“On behalf of the Pennsauken Township Police Department; our domestic violence liaisons Detective Aerika Long, Officer Evette Truitt, and Officer Nicole Kulyk; as well as Pennsauken Mayor Jack Killion, Public Safety Director Bill Orth, and Township Committeeman Marco DiBattista, I want to thank the Camden County Women’s Center for this award,” says Pennsauken Police Chief John Nettleton. “The Pennsauken Police Department truly values our working relationship with the Camden County Women’s Center to provide support services to victims of domestic violence.”
