In a post on the District’s website, Dr. Ronnie Tarchichi, superintendent of Pennsauken Public Schools, announced the extension of their remote learning plan.
“Given the current state of the situation, Pennsauken Public Schools will continue remote learning through April 9, 2020, with a tentative restart date of April 20, 2020,” said Tarchichi in a letter addressed to school families. “Spring Break will be observed from April 10 – 17, 2020.”
Learning packets for the extension of remote learning should be received in the mail no later March 30. Tarchichi expressed optimism that school will reopen after Spring Break, but is putting together a contingency plan is an even longer extension is required.
“I hope we are back in school April 20, 2020. However, based on the current state of affairs, and in order to be proactive, Pennsauken Public Schools is already making plans to make a third contingency plan, which will be our last plan of the school year. The third plan will complete the curriculum for this year in all content areas and subjects for students.”
“I would like to take time to thank you, parents, grandparents, and guardians for teaching our students,” added Tarchichi. “Despite the difficulty, you are doing a wonderful job.”
