Pennsauken Spring Clean Up Day Held On April 2

The Pennsauken Environmental Commission and the Township’s Parks and Recreation Department will be holding a spring clean up day on Saturday, April 2. Held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., 60 volunteers will be split between four locations: Tippin’s Pond, 49th St. Park, the Boat Ramp at Derousse Ave., and Meadowbrook Park.

“Each year, volunteers from our community come out and get some of Pennsauken’s great outdoor spaces ready for warm weather activities,” explained Juan Vazquez, the Township’s parks and recreation coordinator. “This is a great project for community groups and young people who need service hours. We hope you’ll join us!”

Each person, family, or team will be provided with trash bags, a bucket, gloves (one size fits all), and trash pickers. It is suggested that volunteers wear boots, along with old clothes (long-sleeved shirts and pants), as individuals can get muddy and dirty. These clean ups may be canceled/postponed due to weather 24 hours prior to the event.

It’s suggested that volunteers wear face masks during the clean up and maintain social distancing when possible. If a volunteer feels ill within 24 hours of the event, comes in contact with someone who had tested positive for COVID-19 or is waiting for test results, and/or have personally tested positive for COVID-19 or are awaiting test results, please contact the Parks and Recreation Department at the contact information below and stay home.

Registration for the spring clean up is required at least five days prior to the event. To register, please email the following information to jvazquez@twp.pennsauken.nj.us:
