Pennsauken Township is sponsoring a trap rental program to help residents manage the community cat populations in their neighborhoods.
Traps are currently available by appointment only, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., at the Township Municipal Building, 5605 N. Crescent Blvd., Pennsauken, NJ 08110. During the appointment, residents will receive instruction on the proper use and deployment of the trap. Also at that time, individuals must provide proof of residency in the form of a valid photo ID, as well as a recent household bill.
Residents who participate in this program are responsible for maintaining and operating the trap; humanely capturing community cats on their property; securing appointments for the cats they trap to be spayed/neutered; and before and after care of the animal.
If a Township trap is lost, stolen, or damaged, a fee will be assessed to the resident so that the trap can be replaced.
