Pennsauken’s “Little Angels” Got Their Wings
By Judith Kristen, AAP Columnist
It was a picture perfect morning on June 5, when 27 “Little Angels” got their wings in the form of a Pre-K diploma.
The graduation was as official as any going on in the month of June to include: fabulous speakers, beautiful music, and full cap and gown. It was a glorious event for the children, their families, and their teachers. Ms. Vicky, director at St. Cecilia’s Preschool and Day Care, gave the introduction to the audience, and Father Timothy Byerley followed with his own personal greetings and opening prayer. Both received a full round of cheers and applause.
Then came even more cheers as the procession of students entered the room. There was a smile on every child’s face. What a wonderful moment for each of them to remember. As soon as the children were in their places, front and center, The Pledge of Allegiance was proudly said by all. This was followed by the beautiful voices of each and every student led by their music teacher- Miss Dorian. Soon after came the distribution of their diplomas and then, a refreshment celebration for the children right there in St. Cecilia’s cafeteria. Now they are on to a summer of joy and fun, followed by a whole new life come September when each one of them prepares to make their own special and loving mark on our world one day. Congratulations One and All!
