Pennsauken’s Trap Rental Program To Open In April

By New Jersey Animal Control

Beginning Tuesday, April 1, Pennsauken’s Trap Rental Program will resume for the 2025 season. This annual program is held in conjunction with the Community Cat Program. The trap rental program provides traps to residents who participate in the Community Cat Program and manage a feral cat colony on their property. Residents who participate in this Program are responsible for maintaining and operating the trap; humanely capturing community cats on their property; securing appointments for the cats they trap to be spayed/neutered; and before and after care of the animal.

If you are a resident of Pennsauken Township and are participating in the Community Cat Program, traps can be reserved online through the Township website. Reserved traps can be picked up and dropped off on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Municipal Building. An important reminder for residents managing a colony as part of Pennsauken’s Community Cat Program: feral cats must be contained to your property and colony. If feral cats become a nuisance to your neighbors, animal control does have the authority to trap and remove cats from neighboring properties.

Spring Clean Up And Animal Prevention

The spring season not only brings us warmer weather, but also wildlife and stray animals who are searching for a safe place to give birth to their young. Now is the time for residents to check the exterior of their homes and sheds for possible openings in soffits, roofs, chimneys, and crawlspaces – all which provide convenient access points to warmer areas of your home. Trees should be trimmed back from the property to prevent animals from utilizing them as a bridge to your house.
