Public Works Handling Friday’s Trash/Recycling Route, As Seaside Waste Fails To Provide Trucks
By Frank Sinatra, AAP Editor
In a social media post today, Pennsauken’s Department of Public Works announced that their staff are handling trash and recycling collection on Friday, May 28, because Seaside Waste, the company contracted to provide this service to the Township, has failed to provide any trucks today.
“SJ Sanitation/Seaside Waste has no (zero) trucks to send Pennsauken today (Friday),” the Public Works Department wrote in an online statement. “With the promising hybrid approach that almost kept Thursday’s routes on-schedule, it is an understatement to say that your Public Works Department is disappointed.”

The entire staff of the Public Works Department is finishing the remaining portion of Thursday’s trash/recycling route what was not completed by Seaside Waste and then moving to handle Friday’s trash collection. Recycling will be collected on Saturday, as Friday’s trash pickup is anticipated to take all day. A dumpster is being set up at the town’s Public Works facility, located at 6725 Wayne Ave., for residents to drop off their yard debris, if they wish to do so.
“We are offering this dumpster to residents who are inclined to bring their yard debris to our yard. This is obviously not ideal for our residents, nor required. It is simply an effort to relieve pressure from the street from those capable and willing.”
The Public Works Department assured residents that they will do everything possible to help residents during this ongoing issue and will continue to provide regular updates.
“We work within these obstacles to get as far as we can – and still offer a break for the guys, who are pulling 13+ hour days. Stay tuned as we continue to work through this.”
