Remembering Longtime Pennsauken Residents

Frank J. Nardi, Sr., age 73 of Pennsauken, passed away on Oct. 23.

He was the beloved husband of Barbara M. (nee Cuneo) and son of the late Joseph and Rosina Nardi; devoted father of Barbara Hertline (Bill) and Frank J. Nardi Jr.; loving grandfather of Abigail and Isabel Hertline; dear brother of Marie Francesconi (Thomas) and the late Joseph Nardi Jr. (late Rita); also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Prior to his retirement, Mr. Nardi was an English teacher with the Camden City Board of Education for over 30 years. He also was a talented vocalist, performing throughout the local area for many years and singing with the Philadelphia Opera Company for 27 years. Frank loved music and all things Camden Catholic and St. Joe’s. He was also an avid Philadelphia sports fan.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Saturday, Oct. 30, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Rd. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon at the Church of Mary, Queen of All Saints, 4801 Camden Ave., Pennsauken.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to Gift of Life Donor Program, 401 N. 3rd Street, Philadelpha, PA 19123; or to Mary, Queen of All Saints, 4824 Camden Avenue, Pennsauken, NJ 08110.

Michael T. Niessen, Sr. gained his wings on Friday, Oct. 22, at his home in Pennsauken.

Niessen is survived by his devoted wife, Gail of 35 years; his children, Michael Jr., Carol (Chris), Leiren and Victoria (Anthony); his grandchildren, Paul, Mikey, KC, Amber, Giovanni, Brianna, Johnny, Nathan, Katelyn, CJ, Devin, Dominic and Chloe and his grandpup, Blue. He is also survived by his sister, Elizabeth (Tim); his niece, Amanda, and various friends and family. He was predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Eleanor.

Michael worked at AFG for over 10 years, Stretcher Limo for over 10 years, and finally at Cartun Hardware, where he recently retired after 40 years of employment. Mike loved spending time with his family, going down to his campsite, and all things Disney.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Thursday, Oct. 28, from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Healey Funeral Home, 9 White Horse Pike, Haddon Heights; his funeral service will be held at noon. Entombment follows at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson.
