Freeholder Barbara Holcomb has been notified by Merchantville-Pennsauken Water Commission that crews will be paving River Rd. and Union Ave. in Pennsauken beginning on Monday, June 1, and continuing through Friday, June 5. The project is expected to require the complete closure of stretches of River Rd. and Union Ave.
“This project will require the closure of two adjacent roadways, impacting traffic throughout the area,” Holcomb said. “When driving through or around the construction area, please be extra vigilant for sudden stops, shifting traffic patterns, and crews or debris that may end up in the roadway.”
Beginning at 7:00 a.m. Monday morning, crews will close River Rd. to all traffic between Lennox Rd. and Union Ave., as well as close Union Ave. between River and Haines roads. A posted detour route will guide motorists around the affected area. Both roads will reopen each afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
This project is scheduled to be completed by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 5. Scheduling and project timing is dependent on weather and may be adjusted due to unforeseen events.
