Scrub Daddy Speaks At PMAC Networking Luncheon

Scrub Daddy’s Will Augenbraun, chief strategy officer, and Jennifer Picariello, chief sales and marketing officer, were the guests at last month’s PMAC Networking Luncheon.

Makers of “America’s Favorite Sponge” and one of the most successful companies on the popular TV show “Shark Tank,” Scrub Daddy relocated its global headquarters to Pennsauken. Prior to the move, the company operated out of three separate buildings.

“It was getting dysfunctional. Then the pandemic hit, and our business continued to explode,” explained Augenbraun. “The core of our workers are in South Philadelphia. We wanted to find a central location in the Delaware Valley. I saw a flyer about 1700 Suckle Highway.”

Jennifer Picariello and Will Augenbraun from Scrub Daddy were guests at September’s PMAC Meeting.

Scrub Daddy had a strong interest in purchasing the property. Their vision included adding gardens for employees to sit outside, having meetings, or take a lunch break. But as they looked into the property, it turned into a much bigger project than anticipated. That’s when Pennsauken’s municipal government came in to help.

“Pennsauken was the most cooperative place we could have ever landed in a million years. They rolled out the red carpet. They gave us preliminary approval to put an extension on the back of the building that gave us the ability to add loading,” said Augenbraun.

In February of 2021, Scrub Daddy purchased the 116,000-square foot property and invested over $8 million in site renovations.

“[Pennsauken] is just a wonderful place to be partnered with a local township,” said Augenbraun.

The next PMAC networking luncheon will be on Wednesday, Oct. 12, noon at the Pennsauken Country Club, 3800 Haddonfield Rd. The guest speaker will be Larry Cardwell from Pennsauken Township’s Economic Development Department. The cost to attend is $30 per person. PMAC members can R.S.V.P. no later than Monday, Oct. 10, by contacting Nancy Ellis at (856) 438-0833 or pmac1team@gmail.com.
