Senior Citizen Appreciation Day Postponed To June 12
Because of the rain forecast this afternoon, today’s Senior Citizen Appreciation Day at the Pennsauken Municipal Pool has been moved to Wednesday, June 12, noon to 4:00 p.m.
An annual tradition, Pennsauken’s senior citizens are encouraged to put on their bathing suits and have a fun day at the pool during Senior Citizen Appreciation Day, sponsored by the Township and the Parks and Recreation Department. Held on Wednesday, June 12, noon to 4:00 p.m. at the Pennsauken Municipal Pool, 6100 River Rd., Pennsauken seniors aged 62 and over are set to enjoy a variety of free, fun activities. The pool will be open for swimming or a quick dip. Atrium Dance Studio will get attendees on the dance floor with a special lesson. A DJ will be playing music favorites throughout the event, and volunteers will be running BINGO. In addition, Pennsauken’s Public Works staff and first responders will be grilling for the event, and members of Township Committee will be serving food to guests.
“This event signifies what this Township is about: giving back to our residents,” said Pennsauken Mayor Marco DiBattista. “It’s a great day for our seniors to get out and enjoy a great time at our Pennsauken Pool.”
“Our Senior Citizen Appreciation Day is a completely free event,” added Juan Vazquez, Parks and Recreation coordinator. “We encourage of senior residents to R.S.V.P. as soon as possible so you can reserve your spot!”
Registration is required by Monday, June 10. To R.S.V.P., call (856) 665-1000 x152 or email aschmalbach@pennsauken.gov.
