So Much To Celebrate This Month In Pennsauken

By Nicole Roberts, Mayor of Pennsauken

Fall in Pennsauken is one of my favorite times of year. It’s a special season, filled with traditions both old and new that show why our Township is such a wonderful place to live.

Something extremely exciting to celebrate is the opening of our brand-new municipal building! Opened on Oct. 8, our staff are ready to serve our residents at the highest level. And we are thrilled that the Pennsauken Free Public Library reopens to the public on Saturday, Oct. 25.

We’re also recognizing Hispanic Heritage Month through Oct. 15 I was proud to be on hand as Township Committeeman Vince Martinez and healthcare advocate Margarita Santiago were honored as Prominent Hispanics of Distinction by Camden County.

Also on Oct. 15, the Pennsauken Township Police Department is hosting its annual trunk or treat. Held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the parking lot at their headquarters, children can safely collect candy from decorated vehicles while enjoying a festive Halloween atmosphere.

Then, on Saturday, Oct. 18, we’ll be hosting our annual Fall Festival at the Pennsauken Community Recreation Complex on Westfield and Bethel avenues. From noon to 4:00 p.m., we’ve put together a great event that brings our whole community together.

For our senior residents, the Senior Citizen Fall Ball returns on Tuesday, Oct. 28, from noon to 3:00 p.m. at Atrium Dance Studio. Guests can enjoy music, dancing, and a complimentary lunch. If you’d like to register for this event, be sure to R.S.V.P. with Amy Schmalbach at (856) 665-1000, ext. 152.

Finally, Trick or Treating in Pennsauken takes place on Friday, Oct. 31, from 4 to 8 p.m., rain or shine. I’m excited to see our neighborhoods filled with creative costumes and plenty of Halloween spirit.

I invite all residents to join us, meet your neighbors, and celebrate the season together!
