Suspect Charged With Attempted Murder In Shooting At Pennsauken Bar

Pennsauken Police and the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office announced an arrest in connection to a shooting outside of a Township bar early Sunday morning.

Young, 42, of Merchantville

Carl Young, 42, of Merchantville, N.J., was arrested on March 6 and charged with first degree Attempted Murder, second degree Aggravated Assault and related weapons offenses.

According to a press release by the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, a 35-year-old Merchantville man was shot in the face by Young after a verbal altercation in a parking lot near Bryson’s Pub, located at 3402 Cove Rd. The victim was taken to Cooper Hospital by Pennsauken EMS in stable condition and has since been released.

Young fled the scene on foot, but was arrested shortly thereafter. The weapon used in the incident was also recovered.

All persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
