PYAA Holds Scrapbooking Crop Fundraiser
The Pennsauken Youth Athletic Association (PYAA) is hosting a “Scrapbooking Crop” fundraiser on Saturday, March 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at PYAA Field House, located at Marion and Elm avenues. Price of admission includes all day coffee, tea and water, a meal ticket for “lite” breakfast, dinner, snack and two drinks. Vendors will also be on site with items available for purchase. Costs are $35 per person for a ½ round table, $45 per person for a six foot table with electric. Checks are made payable to PYAA. A magical event held this month by two longtime Township residents will not only entertain local children of all ages, but also help to raise funds for the Pennsauken Free Public Library.
First-Ever Little Heroes Run And Fun Walk Held At Cooper River Park
The first-ever Little Heroes 5K Run and Fun Walk will be held on Saturday, Sept. 19 at Cooper River Park in Pennsauken. The event will raise funds and awareness for the Children’s Tumor Foundation (CTF), an organization dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of children and families affected by neurofibromatosis (NF), a genetic disorder that affects 1 in 3,000 children. NF causes tumors, affects vision and hearing, and can lead to other serious health concerns.
Carson Students Show Heart!
During February, kindergarten through fourth grade students showed their support of the annual Jump Rope for Heart Marathon. Students participated in various heart-racing exercises.
Students used hula hoops, jump ropes, relay racing, etc. to show their support for children in need. All the funds raised by the event are donated to the American Heart Association.
Carson participated with enthusiasm and a lot of heart!

Book And Bake Sale Headlines Friends’ Fall Events
The Friends of the Pennsauken Free Public Library host its annual Book and Bake Sale Oct. 17-19, at the Pennsauken Library, 5605 N. Crescent Blvd., during regular library hours. And the name of the event really doesn’t do it justice these days. Sure, we have books: plenty of best sellers, mysteries, romance, children’s, biographies, crafts, and more. But what about the CDs, DVDs, BluRays, games, and other technical buys for those of you who want something more? They’re all a big part of our sale as well, lots of them, all at bargain prices along with all those books!
