Township Program Helps Pennsauken Job Seekers

By Frank Sinatra, AAP Editor

Work Pennsauken,” is the Township’s ongoing initiative designed to help Pennsauken residents find available jobs right here in town. The key objective, according to Pennsauken Mayor Marco DiBattista, is to directly impact residents in a positive way.

“For the past several years, Township Committee has done a lot of things that we believe have positively impacted the town. And one of key things I focus on is looking for the next project that will give back to the Pennsauken community,” explained Mayor DiBattista. “It was really important to me, serving as the mayor this year, and with the support of the entire Committee, to develop something that will help people directly. That’s how Work Pennsauken got started.”

Through a dedicated page on the Township’s website, accessible by visiting WorkPennsauken.com, employers interested in posting job openings can fill out the Business Directory Form; from there, job seekers have easy access to current listings through the Job Opportunity Directory and can directly contact businesses regarding these open positions.

“We’re reaching out to businesses within our Township to see who has job openings and giving them an opportunity to post them on our website. This gives our residents a place, whether they’re not working or just want to better their job, to look at available positions and apply for them,” said Mayor DiBattista.

To date, several local companies have submitted multiple job offerings for a variety of positions. And the Township is looking to grow the program, to the benefit of Pennsauken residents and businesses alike.

“It’s really important to me to find ways to serve this community at the highest levels. And something that’s important to everybody is to have a good job, so that they can have a healthy, prosperous life. We just want to give people in town that opportunity,” said Mayor DiBattista. “We will continue to add jobs for a variety of positions here in town to the Work Pennsauken website. This is something we want to carry on for years to come.”
