Pennsauken and its Parks and Recreation Department are hosting a free event for Township senior citizens this month. A free luncheon for Pennsauken residents ages 62 and older will be held on Thursday, Dec. 29, noon to 3:00 p.m., at the Pennsauken Country Club, 3800 Haddonfield Rd.
“After the great response and turnout from our senior citizen appreciation day over the summer, we wanted to hold another event just for these special members of our community,” said Pennsauken Mayor Jessica Rafeh. “We’re excited to host our seniors at the Pennsauken Country Club for this great luncheon.”
“We couldn’t think of a better way to close out the year than to thank our senior citizens for their support,” said Deputy Mayor Nicole Roberts. “In addition, their feedback is extremely important. We look forward to speaking with our senior citizens to learn how we can make our Pennsauken community better.”
The event features a buffet lunch, BINGO with prizes, music, and more.
“This luncheon is part of an ongoing effort to reach out to our seniors and learn how Township Committee can best assist them,” said Pennsauken Township Committeeman Marco DiBattista. “Our job is to listen to them and find ways to better serve our senior community.”
This luncheon is a first come, first served event. Attendees must register in advance. Pennsauken senior citizens who wish to participate can contact Juan Vazquez, Parks and Recreation coordinator, at events@pennsauken.gov or by calling (856) 665-1000 x151. The deadline to register is Monday, Dec. 19.
