Township To Make Decision On Parade Of Lights Tomorrow Evening
As significant rainfall is in the forecast for Friday, Dec. 14, Pennsauken Township will make a decision regarding whether or not the event will occur tomorrow evening.
“Just like you, we’ve been watching the forecasts for Friday evening. And while the snow last year made things difficult, it had pretty much stopped by the parade’s start time,” said the Township this morning via it’s Facebook page. “Heavy rains can do a lot more damage to the light setups on vehicles. And there are students from Pennsauken High School’s marching band slated to perform on the parade route. Rain doesn’t help with that at all.
“We will make a determination Thursday evening on whether or not the Parade of Lights will be cancelled. If the parade is cancelled, there is no rain date; there are too many other events in other communities that participants have commitments for.
“We’re hoping to squeeze in the parade before Mother Nature gets involved, but we hope you understand if we can’t make it happen this year.”
