For those residents who’ve always said to their families and friends, “I’ve got the BEST idea for a movie!”, now’s your chance.

Wizard World, Inc. and Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc., an affiliate of Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc., today began accepting content ideas online, with potential pitch sessions to be scheduled during Wizard World Comic Con Philadelphia on Thursday and Friday, May 17-18, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. This marks the second activation of the recently announced collaboration between the pop culture convention producer and leading studio, following a successful debut earlier this month in Portland, Ore.

Full Day Pre-K And Kindergarten Online Pre-Registration Ends April 29

There’s still time for parents and guardians to pre-register their children for full day Pre-K and Kindergarten in the Pennsauken School District. The online pre-registration period ends Sunday, April 29.

Neighborhood Craft Show And Flea Market Held On April 28

Temple Lutheran Church, 5600 N. Rt. 130, is hosting a neighborhood craft show and flea market on Saturday, April 28 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Participants are invited to sell their treasures or buy them from others. Pennsauken Resident To Receive DVLF HEROES Award

On April 29, Pennsauken resident Jerome Pipes will receive the 2018 HEROES award in the non-profit category from the Delaware Valley Legacy Fund.

Jerome T. Pipes works as The Team Lead Care and Treatment Adherence Psychosocial Service Coordinator at Camden Area Health Education Center-AHEC. Pipes helps lead the efforts to provide HIV testing, counseling, harm reduction, needle exchange, and more. He has been active in AIDS awareness events, Black Lives Matter, healthcare reform, and many other grassroots movements and issues. He has previously been recognized by the Nonprofit Development Center of Southern New Jersey and the Camden County Board of Elected Freeholders for – among other things – his advocacy for underserved communities.

TONIGHT: Pennsauken Residents Can Submit Longfellow Survey In Person

The Pennsauken School District is conducting on online survey to poll residents about what should happen to the property that currently houses Longfellow School. The building, which is in a state of disrepair, will be demolished later this year.

Pennsauken residents who don’t have access to a computer have an opportunity to participate in the Longfellow Park Survey. This evening, Tuesday, April 17, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., residents can visit the Pennsauken Free Public Library and submit a completed survey.

To participate in this survey, you must be a current Pennsauken resident, 18 years of age or older. For those voting no, the District is asking respondents to suggest an alternative to the proposed park in order for your “no vote” to count.

The results from the survey are ONLY being used to determine what will be occurring at the Longfellow property. The information provided WILL NOT be used for any other purpose.

PSE&G Begins Gas Main Replacement Work In Pennsauken

PSE&G has begun replacing gas mains in a portion of Pennsauken as part of a $905 million program to modernize its system.

Work is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, April 17 and will occur on the following roads:

48th Street River Road End Heading Northwest
49th Street River Road 100′ S/o River Road
Lexingtion Avenue 60′ S/o River Road End Heading Northwest
River Road Springfield Aveune 47th Street
Springfield Avenue River Road 70′ S/o River Road
West River Drive River Road End Heading Northwest

All affected residents who live by these roadways have been notified by mail and door hanger.

Work is slated to be completed by Monday, April 30
