Extra Ways To Get Into The Holiday Spirit
There are a lot of ways people celebrate this time of year. Here are some additional ways to embrace the holiday season.
East Pennsauken United Methodist Church, 3700 Haddonfield Rd., is hosting an Advent Workshop on Sunday Dec. 6 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. The event features free activities for children, youth and adults, including making candy canes and ornaments. All attendees will receive a light supper and chocolate Advent calendar. For more information, call (856) 325-0746.
Boomerang, a Pennsauken based company that specializes in high quality, pre-owned office furniture, is supporting Project Giving Tree, an initiative of the YMAC of Burlington and Camden Counties that is helping families in need this holiday season. Project Giving Tree allows individuals to make online donations to help provide gifts, meals and school supplies for local needy families. The drive runs now through Dec. 12. Religious sisters from the Missionaries of Mary the Formator have come to serve the Pennsauken community through Mary Queen of All Saints Parish. The good sisters are selling religious items, such as rosaries, prayer bracelets, scapulars and St. Benedict medals. Each item is homemade by the sisters, and comes in a variety of colors and designs. They make perfect stocking stuffers and all proceeds from the sales benefit the nuns’ community outreach. And while we can all appreciate Santa’s hard work during the holidays, it wouldn’t be Christmas without recognizing someone’s very special birthday. Various places of worship throughout Pennsauken and Merchantville are having special events and services for Christmas. If you’re so inclined, they’re a wonderful way to get into a true Christmas spirit.
On behalf of everyone here at All Around Pennsauken, we’d like to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, Blessed Kwanzaa, Happy Festivus, and a joyful and prosperous New Year. However you celebrate, may it be with family and friends.
