Ribbon Cutting For Trail Expansion On December 12

Pennsauken’s administration has planned a ribbon cutting on Tuesday, Dec. 12, to officially open the Township’s multi-use trail expansion.

“We’re officially opening this great addition to Pennsauken’s outdoor spaces,” said Pennsauken Mayor Vince Martinez. “We know a lot of residents are excited about this project.”

The project, which was made possible by grant funding from the New Jersey Department of Transportation and the Transportation Alternatives Program, as well as support from NJ Transit, features a 12-foot-wide multi-use path that runs parallel to Chestnut Ave., starting at Cove Rd. and ending at Bethel Ave. Amenities for the trail include pedestrian signals and signage, lighting, exercise equipment, benches, trash receptacles, and more.

Several community partners helped make this project possible. McCormick Taylor provided the design for the trail extension. Remington and Vernick Engineers served as the construction manager, and Command Company, Inc. was the construction contractor.

“Teamwork is essential when it comes to endeavors like this one, and Pennsauken put together a great team to make it happen,” said Mayor Martinez.

The ribbon cutting will occur at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 12, at the corner of Chestnut and Norwood avenues. The public is invited to attend.
