Pennsauken Township shared an update from PSE&G yesterday regarding a series of power outages experience in the last several days.

“According to PSE&G, an electrical circuit serving the area from the Camden Switch experienced an intermittent vegetation-related issue that contributed to multiple outages over the past week. PSE&G has since identified and addressed the vegetation issue, which had caused a transformer to fail,” the Township stated in an online post. “In addition, PSEG has identified several failures involving underground electrical equipment. These issues are being addressed individually as they are reported.”

The Township also posted that PSE&G identified issues at a substation that may have also contributed to issues with Pennsauken residents.

On Tuesday, Sept. 8, Pennsauken neighborhoods began experiencing a brief outage, followed by another on Thursday, Sept. 10, then an extended power outage on Sunday, Sept. 13, that lasted over an hour. On Monday, Sept. 14, there were at least two outages that day.

The Township continues to follow up with PSE&G to ensure that residents receive consistent power to their homes.

“The Township appreciates our residents’ patience and understands the frustration caused by these repeated outages. We will continue to communicate with PSE&G and advocate for reliable service for our residents.”
